Packaging Design Source of Subtle Waves Liquor Packaging by Zhang Jie Source of Subtle Waves is a packaging design for Chinese Baijiu liquor. The waterdrop shaped bottle symbolizes the transformation of grain and water into Baijiu over time and refers to the long brewing process. The bottle is made of ceramic fired in Jingdezhen and combined with gold plated metal, creating a contrast between strength and gentleness. High temperature relief decals give the surface a three dimensional texture. The cap is inspired by ancient scholar headdresses. A wider midsection and narrower ends make the bottle easy to hold and pour.
